Welcome to Red! Aptly named after owner, Jessica Lusk’s, feisty
Mam-maw who had bright red hair. Only Pap-paw called her Red. Others called her Stella and ate the heck out of her baked goods. Especially Jessica. She loves desserts; like it’s a full blown obsession. After obtaining her Masters in Architecture and working a few years in the design and construction industry, Lusk decided to make a career change and turn her dessert obsession into a business.
She traveled the world to perform totally pertinent “sugar research” and decided the business recipe should be to offer Classic American Desserts with a twist. Then, eat em’ with a glass of fine wine or yes, maybe even an IPA (don’t knock it till you try it!).
Everything came together when Lusk met her long lost baking-sister, pastry chef, Ashley Leonard. Described as magical by the Red team, that’s exactly what Ashley is and what she does… she creates magical desserts.
Red is filled with goodness, fun, love, and lots of passion.Red uses only the highest quality products/produce and bakes fresh daily. Eco-awareness is super important to the Red team. We used reclaimed wood in the shop’s design, recycled packaging, rubber stamps instead of labels, and we recycle each and every wine bottle and beer can!
Red Dessert Dive will be having a Wine Tasting Benefit on April 30th to help raise funds for a very special family. In the wee hours of Saturday March 14th, the Tayloe family learned that their 9 month old baby boy has Cancer.
